The design is Celtic made of 4 trefoils surrounded with a frame and loop at two ends.
I have a ring and stations that continue this celtic tradition.
The trefoil has a long history. In ancient times it represented the 3 honored ages of women. Girl, young woman and crone - or wise woman. It has an alternative meaning of earth, wind and fiire and in modern times the trinity of Christian faith.
